OPERATIONS MANAGER – DE PALM ISLAND

Are you a strong operational leader who can oversee multiple departments, keep standards high, solve problems quickly, and make sure the entire guest operation runs smoothly?

De Palm Island is looking for an experienced Operations Manager who will take responsibility for the overall daily operation of the island and lead all operational departments together as one team.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

As Operations Manager, you will oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operation of:

Food & Beverage
Maintenance
Lifeguards
SeaTrek / Divers
Captains
Cleaning / Utility
Rangers
Guest Ambassadeurs
Assistant Managers
Shift Leader

You will report directly to the General Manager of De Palm Island and will be responsible for ensuring that all departments operate safely, efficiently, professionally and according to De Palm Island standards.

Can manage several departments and priorities at the same time

Is visible on the floor and comfortable working hands-on
Can make quick and sound decisions under pressure
Has strong problem-solving skills
Holds managers and supervisors accountable
Has excellent communication skills
Has a strong guest-service mentality
Can coach, motivate and develop teams
Works well in a fast-paced hospitality environment
Has experience with staffing, planning and daily operational coordination
Understands safety, compliance and operational procedures
Has financial awareness and understands budgets and cost control
Has knowledge of inventory, purchasing and procurement
Can work closely with Finance, Purchasing, Warehouse and senior management
Is flexible and available to work weekends, holidays and extended hours when required

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

Candidates should preferably have:

Minimum HBO or equivalent in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Operations Management or a related field
Minimum 5 years of hospitality or operational experience
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or management position
Proven experience managing multiple operational departments or teams
Experience in a high-volume hospitality, resort, attraction or leisure environment is strongly preferred
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards; HACCP knowledge is an advantage

LANGUAGES

English is required
Spanish is a strong advantage
Dutch and/or Papiamento are considered an advantage
